Evan Morrison re-signs with the Barnstormers

The reigning Rookie of the Year in the Canadian Baseball League is returning to Chatham-Kent.

Evan Morrison has re-signed with the Barnstormers for the 2026 season.

The second baseman from Wheatley was the league batting champion last season, hitting .422, was second in hits with 65, third in total bases with 88, and was in the top 5 in on-base percentage (OBP) with .452, and slugging with .571.

Morrison was also named a first team league all-star and won the Brian Kerr Memorial Trophy as the League Rookie of the Year.

The 2026 Barnstormers season kicks off on Friday, May 15, when Chatham hosts Guelph at Fergie Jenkins Field at 7:35 p.m.
