Chatham-Kent (CK) is under a yellow snow squall watch.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), a cold front, accompanied by lake effect snow from Lake Huron, may cause up to 20 centimetres of snow to fall by Thursday afternoon.
The alert notes the region may also see heavy wind gusts, which could cause blowing snow.
ECCC is warning that travel may be hazardous with reduced visibility at times.
The alert was put in effect just before noon on Wednesday, and is scheduled to end Thursday afternoon.
