Dog attack leads to CK woman's arrest

A Chatham-Kent woman's "ruff" day has led to her arrest.

Chatham-Kent (CK) police arrested and charged a 50-year-old Chatham-Kent woman on Thursday after police alleged that her unrestrained dog bit a Chatham man while he was trying to separate his dog from the other canine during a dog attack on Victoria Street in Thamesville.

Police said the man didn't need medical attention, but his dog was injured and required medical treatment.

According to police, the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with her probation order, and she was arrested.

"The Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind residents of the importance of responsible pet ownership and ensuring dogs are properly restrained to prevent injuries," noted CK police.
