Wallaceburg man charged after police were threatened

A 20-year-old man has been charged with allegedly making threats to the Chatham-Kent Police Service.

At about 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, multiple threatening calls were made to the front desk of the CK police's headquarters.

Police did not specify what was said, only that several threats were made.

It was later determined that the calls were coming from a man living on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg. Officers went to the home and found the suspect there.

The man was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death, harassing communications, being intoxicated in a public place, and failing to comply with a probation order.

He's currently in police custody awaiting a bail hearing.
