Around $35,000 was raised for the Chatham's Children’s Treatment Centre at a recent fundraiser.
The funds were collected over the weekend during the Children’s Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent's (CTCF) Boccia for the Kids tournament.
Boccia is a Paralympic sport that combines elements of bocce and curling and can be played by people of all ages and abilities.
"[This event] reflects our community’s commitment to inclusion. This tournament brought people of all abilities together and highlighted the importance of ensuring every child has access to the supports they need to thrive. We are grateful to everyone whose contributions made this tournament possible," said Mike Genge, President & CEO of the CTCF.
The funds raised will directly support programs that aren't government-funded, including therapeutic recreation and music therapy.
