Weapons Charges

A 23-year-old man from Wallaceburg has been arrested and charged with weapons offences following a report of a man with a firearm inside a vehicle in Wallaceburg.

Chatham-Kent police said someone reported seeing a man in a vehicle with a firearm on Dauw Avenue in Wallaceburg on Tuesday night.

The suspect was charged with possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm and careless storage of a firearm.

Trespass Arrest

A mischief charge has been laid against a man after a report of someone trespassing at a business on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police alleged the suspect ignored multiple trespass notices previously issued to prevent the person from attending the business.

According to police, the presence of the individual has caused disruptions to nearby businesses and customers.

Chatham-Kent police reported a 44-year-old man driving a pickup truck was killed in the crash at Jeanettes Creek Road and Coutts Line around 6 p.m. Tuesday.
