Hundreds gather in Chatham for Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day was once again recognized in a big way in Chatham.

Hundreds gathered on Tuesday at the local cenotaph to honour those who served, continue to serve, and will serve to protect our freedom.

Veteran Eric Moulton, who joined the Royal Canadian Navy in 1964, told CK News Today it's always important to recognize the sacrifices so many people made.

"A lot of people served, and some didn't come back. We have to remember them and what they did," he explained.

Moulton also became emotional when discussing all the people, young and old, who showed up despite the cold weather.

"It's good, really good. We remember," he said.

Moulton added that Remembrance Day is one of the few times everyone can come together and forget their differences.

This Remembrance Day marks 107 years since the end of the First World War.
