Update: Chatham Police conclude active investigation

Chatham-Kent police have concluded an active investigation in Chatham.

Officers were called to a home on Grand Avenue following a report of a 40-year-old Chatham man who had barricaded himself in the home and was threatening police.

The Emergency Response Team responded to the area, and after roughly seven hours of negotiations, they successfully entered the home and arrested the man.

The area, which previously had an increased police presence, is now clear.

The man has been charged with uttering threats and remains in custody at this time.
