The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is launching a new website for reporting fraud and cybercrime.
The purpose of the site is to make reporting easier, while also encouraging more people to reach out if they're a victim. According to the RCMP, only between five and 10 per cent of fraud and cybercrime is reported to police.
"Anyone can fall victim to fraud or cybercrime, whether as an individual or as part of a business or organization. That is why it is so important for all Canadians to know exactly where to go if they experience an incident," said Mike Duheme, Commissioner of the RCMP.
Victims can upload photos, screen captures, text messages, and more to the site as evidence.
While the site is an easy way to report potential crimes, the RCMP said this is not a replacement for local police.
