A local 15-year-old has taken his love for bowling on tour.
Braydon Daniels finished second out of 20 competitors at a recent bowling tournament in Lansing, Michigan, to qualify for the upcoming Great Lakes Jr. Gold Tournament in Minnesota next year.
He competed against teens from across Canada and the U.S., playing 12 games in one day with an average score of 190.
His father, Jeff, shared that his recent success has lit a fire in Braydon, motivating him to train harder than ever.
"He hopes to represent himself and Canada well," Jeff said. He added that Braydon hopes to compete at a high level as he gets older, with dreams of a college scholarship and maybe a future place on the pro bowling tour.
Braydon picked up the sport four years ago, after a trip to the bowling alley with his brother and grandmother.
He advises anyone to wants to try to go bowl a few games and see how much fun it really is.
"Bowling is a fun and inviting sport," Braydon said, explaining that it's also a great way to meet people and make new friends.
