A woman from Chatham-Kent with a history of violent behaviour has pleaded guilty to assaulting her ex-boyfriend with a baseball bat.
Kourtny Audette, of Wallaceburg, received a conditional discharge in Chatham court on Monday morning. She won't have this criminal conviction on her record if she completes 12 months of probation and complies with all the orders.
Audette is banned from owning or possessing weapons for 10 years, must complete counselling, and must provide a DNA sample.
She admitted to striking her former boyfriend in the head with a baseball bat during a dog exchange in Wallaceburg in February 2025. The assault led to a bloody forehead, the court heard.
The court also heard that the relationship between the pair was toxic.
Audette was also ordered to keep the peace, not have any contact with the ex-boyfriend or his children, and not be anywhere they are at any time.
She now plans to move to Windsor.
Audette was sentenced to eight and a half years in prison in 2022 for stabbing 24-year-old Nick Laprise to death in 2018.
She has been out of jail for a year.
