Tupperville Road will be closed starting next week to replace culverts.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent announced on Thursday that the work includes the replacement of culverts at Tupperville Road over Pike Creek Drain, and Tupperville Road over Miller Drain.
Municipal officials said equipment and set up of the detour route will begin next week and a full closure of Tupperville Road will be required while construction is underway.
Phase 1 will begin at the Pike Creek Drain, just south of McCreary Line, and it's expected to take approximately four weeks to complete.
Construction at the Miller Drain, just south of McCreary Line is expected to take another four weeks to complete, making the project complete in December.
"Motorists are advised to follow construction detour signage at all times as the dates of the closures may change as work progresses," said the municipality in a news release.
Officials noted access to all properties will be maintained throughout the project.
"The contractor will take every precaution to minimize interruptions, but there may be some inconvenience during work," the municipality said.
The municipality is urging drivers to have patience during this "important infrastructure work."
