Flight attendants reject latest Air Canada offer

Flight Attendants have voted down the latest offer from Air Canada.

The Air Canada component of CUPE has announced that the contract was rejected by 99.1 per cent of flight attendants who cast a vote.

The tentative agreement proposed by Air Canada includes wage increases for workers and introduces a pay structure for time spent working while the aircraft are on the ground.

The proposed increases include a 12 per cent salary boost this year for most junior flight attendants and an 8 per cent raise for senior members, with smaller increases scheduled in the following years.

The deal was proposed last month to end the three-day Air Canada strike.

Legally, flight attendants are barred from any further strike action, and the dispute will be resolved by an arbitrator.
