Anyone interested in learning more about the benefits gained by implementing best management projects is invited to sign up for the upcoming Cultivating Conservation Tour.
The fifth annual bus tour is put on by the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority (LTVCA) and travels through the region to show off some of the area's latest agriculture best management practices and environmental stewardship initiatives.
This year, participants will have the chance to visit and learn about:
• Wetlands (Wigle St, Wheatley)
• Cover Crops (Mersea Rd 10 and County Rd 37, Leamington)
• Tree Planting Projects (3rd Concession Line, Coatsworth)
• Erosion Control Structures (Talbot Trail, Merlin)
• Converting Agricultural Land to Conservation Habitat (County Rd 5, Port Alma)
LTVCA has made enhancing soil and water health one of its key priorities and offers financial incentives to farmers and landowners who implement the best practice projects that can be seen during the tour.

The free event begins at 1:45 p.m. on September 5 at the Two Creeks Conservation Area. Interactive discussions and activities will occur at each location before the bus returns to the conservation area for a locally sourced dinner and a tour.
