A man accused of murdering a woman in Chatham will have his trial dates confirmed next month.
Jeffrey Davis, 45, of Chatham, was charged after a woman was found dead at a home on William Street South in Chatham in June 2024.
On Monday, Superior Court in Chatham heard a four week trial is tentatively set to begin in July 2026 with jury selection and a confirmation hearing for the dates will be held on September 22, 2025. Five days of pretrial are also scheduled to start the week of February 9, 2026.
Davis remains in custody on charges of first-degree murder.
Co-accused Sky-Linn Holden, 24, also remains in custody facing charges of first-degree murder and committing an indignity to a human body.
Her case will be before Chatham Superior Court on September 22, 2025 as well to set pretrial dates.
Chatham-Kent police previously identified the deceased as 27-year-old Louise Thomson from Milton, Ontario, just west of Toronto.
Co-accused David Lozon, 59, of Chatham, who was initially charged with first degree murder, had that charge dropped in late September 2024 because the prosecution said there was not enough evidence and no reasonable prospect of conviction.
Lozon is currently out on bail. He is still charged with committing an indignity to a human body and accessory after the fact to murder.
Both cases have publication bans preventing further information from being made public.
