Man charged after allegedly hitting CK police officer

A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged after allegedly throwing an object at a police officer.

On Friday, CK officers were making an arrest when a man who was standing nearby started shouting at them.

He reportedly threw an object at one of the officers, hitting the officer in the arm.

The man fled on foot but was quickly found and arrested.

The officer suffered minor injuries.

The man has since been charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon and obstructing a police officer.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to make a court appearance on July 22, 2025.
