A fatal crash on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent has claimed the life a motorcycle rider.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said a man was pronounced dead at a local hospital following a motorcycle crash on the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near Orford Road on Monday afternoon at approximately 2 p.m.
The identity of the deceased man will not be released out of respect for the family's privacy, said the OPP.
The investigation continues.
Police closed down the westbound Highway 401 for several hours, but it re-opened shortly after 7 p.m. Monday.
