Chatham-Kent Children's Treatment Centre to benefit from smile cookies

Volunteers are busy this week, helping to bake and decorate cookies for the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign.

From April 28 to May 4, proceeds from cookie sales at the Tim Hortons locations in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Dresden will be given to the Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent.

"We've been very fortunate that the Grail family and the Pritchard family have decided to use smile cookie money to go towards the Children's Treatment Centre," said Mike Genge, President and CEO of the Children's Treatment Centre Foundation of Chatham-Kent. "We're supplementing those cookies by doing baking at the Armoury."

Volunteers have been busy baking and decorating cookies to help the 12 locations keep up with orders.

"We have two shifts per day, and we started on Sunday baking cookies with the Blenheim Shrine Club. We've been rolling through the last couple days, and we're on our third day now so we're doing really really well," said Genge. "On Sunday and Monday, we baked 4,000 cookies each day, and we've got three more (days) to go."

Pre-orders can be place online at https://ctcf-ck.com/2025/04/25/smile-cookie-week-april-28-to-may-4/.

Each cookie costs $2. Last year the CTC Foundation received $54,618 from cookies purchased at local Tim Hortons locations in Chatham, Wallaceburg, and Dresden.

The 2024 campaign saw $18.8 million raised for different charities and community groups across the country. Over $129 million has been raised since the Smile Cookie campaign was launched in 1996.
