Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has launched a public engagement survey asking what important issues should be considered when creating its new five-year strategic plan.
The plan will guide CKHA's priorities and decision-making until 2030, which is why the decision-makers want to know what's important to everyone, from patients to family members to hospital staff and volunteers.
"This Strategic Plan belongs to everyone," said CKHA President and CEO Adam Topp. "We want to understand what matters most to you."
More than 1,000 staff members at CKHA have already been asked what they're looking for over the next five years.
"We have heard feedback that highlights key areas of focus such as patient care, employee wellness, and EDI (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) initiatives among other things," said Fannie Vavoulis with CKHA. "We are diligently tracking all suggestions to ensure that the voices of our team are represented in the final plan, just as we will with the external engagement feedback."
Vavoulis added that the public engagement survey is valuable tool for gathering feedback, but it's just one way CKHA plans to engage with the community.
"There are additional in-person opportunities to ensure everyone has a chance to provide their valuable input," she said.
CKHA will be hosting informal drop-in sessions at local libraries in Chatham-Kent to offer a platform for community members to share their thoughts and engage in discussion.
The schedule of library visits is as follows:
May 6, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Dresden Library
May 7, 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Thamesville Library
May 8, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Chatham Library
