Salvation Army closing Thrift Store in Ridgetown

The Salvation Army of Chatham-Kent is closing the Ridgetown Thrift Store.

Its last day will be April 25, 2025.

Major Larry Bridger told CK News Today they're doing this for financial reasons.

"The store has not been sustainable in recent years. We've been keeping it going with funds we thought could be better used for other services," he said.

The Salvation Army will continue to operate its Community and Family Services in Ridgetown. Bridger noted they're looking for a new building to work from, however, they'll operate in the current location until they can move.

He explained they're hoping to see as many people come out to the Thrift Store before it closes.

"We're hoping to sell as much product as we can," added Bridger.

After it closes, the Salvation Army will only have two Thrift Stores in Chatham-Kent. They're currently located in Chatham and Wallaceburg.

Anyone with plans to donate to the Ridgetown Thrift Store is asked to give their donation to either of the other locations.
