Roses for Rotary returns for 24th year

A popular and colourful fundraiser for a local service club is back.

"This is our 24th annual Roses for Rotary," said Glenn Smith, President of the Rotary Club of Chatham Sunrise. "We've raised about $250,000 just from this campaign that we've put back into the community."

The bouquets cost $30 per one dozen roses. The price includes free delivery in Chatham or they can be picked up at the Portuguese Club in Chatham on Grand Ave. East. between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

"The delivery date is Wednesday, (April) the 16th, and the last day you can order is the Friday, (April) the 11th. Go online at www.rotarysunrise.com and place your order. They are red, yellow, and orange mix, with baby's breath and order greens in a beautiful bouquet," said Smith.

All of the money raised this year goes towards the Rotary Club's many projects.

"We support Outreach for Hunger, Victim Services, Habitat for Humanity, Hospice, and other organizations," said Smith. "We also as a part of Rotary are involved in international projects as well, but most of our money goes right here into the community."

Orders can be placed online at www.rotarysunrise.com.
