Parents struggling to buy certain items for their kids can take advantage of an event happening in Ridgetown.
For the 10th year, the Ridgetown New to You store is holding a "Mom to Mom" sale where people can buy used clothing, toys, and other items at a discounted rate.
"It's great for the people who want to get rid of their used clothing and other parents can buy clothes for their children," said Renee Geluk, one of the sale's organizers.
The people selling their old items will get 70 per cent of the proceeds with the remaining 30 per cent being going to the New to You store.
Geluk explained the store plans on donating its funds to different causes that support youth. In previous years, donations were made to the Children's Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent and each of the schools in Ridgetown.
A large turnout is expected due to all the financial constraints people are facing. This includes inflation and the ongoing trade war with the United States.
Geluk noted she wouldn't be surprised if 200 people visit within the first 10 minutes.
"It says there's a chance of rain and I hope that doesn't keep them away," she joked.
The event is scheduled to happen on April 5, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rudy H. Brown Rural Development Centre on the University of Guelph's Ridgetown campus.
Anyone who can't make it out will have to wait for the next sale later this fall.
