Charges laid after stolen car crashes

A 42-year-old Wallaceburg man is in hot water after allegedly stealing a vehicle and crashing it.

At around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, the man entered a gas station in Dresden and allegedly threatened someone in the building and demanded the keys to their vehicle. It was not mentioned by police if the victim was an employee or customer.

The man fled the scene with the victim's vehicle.

Shortly after, the vehicle was found abandoned north of Glencoe after being involved in a single vehicle collision. It has since been returned to its owner.

The man was later found and arrested in Petrolia.

He's since been charged with robbery with violence, theft of a motor vehicle involving violence, and possession of property obtained by crime.
