Pair of Chatham residents arrested for trespassing and theft

A man and woman, both from Chatham, face charges of trespassing at night and theft under $5,000 after they were caught on camera.

Chatham-Kent police said officers were called to a Wyandott Street address just before 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Police were told during an emergency call that the resident spotted two people on his security camera footage trying to break into his vehicle. After police arrived a search turned up two suspects, a 34-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman.

The duo has been released from police custody with future court dates.

Police make multiple warrant arrests

CK police struck a number of names off the wanted list over the weekend.

On Friday, a 35-year-old Moraviantown woman was arrested just after 1 p.m. on Grand Avenue West in Chatham. She was wanted by police for failing to provide her fingerprints.

Later that same day, a woman from Chatham-Kent was also arrested.

According to police, the 31-year-old was picked up by officers shortly before 5 p.m. at a Wellington Street West address. The woman had unendorsed warrants for failing to attend court and mischief.

Just before 11 a.m. on Sunday, police arrested a man at a Doverdoon Drive address.

Officers were at the location investigating a different matter when they discovered the 27-year-old had warrants out for his arrest.

The man faces charges of theft and possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was released from police custody with an April 28 court date.

A Dresden man, who was wanted in St. Thomas for seven counts of breaching probation orders, was arrested by CK police on Sunday.

Police said they arrested the 39-year-old at around 4:30 p.m. when they were investigating a separate matter at a Davies Street West address.

The man was later turned over to the St. Thomas Police Service.
