Two-vehicle crash near Wheatley under investigation

Essex County OPP is investigating a two-vehicle collision on Wheatley Road early Monday morning.

Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the scene at around 5:30 a.m. Monday, but the scene was turned over to OPP because the crash took place on the west side of the road, which is under the jurisdiction of provincial police.

OPP said four people were taken to the hospital as a precaution with non-life threatening injuries.

There is no word yet on whether charges will be laid.
