Chatham crash seriously injures man on mobility scooter

Chatham-Kent police are looking for help investigating a weekend crash in Chatham.

Police said an elderly man in a mobility scooter was struck by a Ford F-150 pickup truck on Saturday at around 3 p.m. while crossing the road at McNaughton Avenue and St. Clair Street.

Police said the pickup was heading eastbound on McNaughton Avenue when the driver struck a 74-year-old Chatham man. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. He was later transferred to Windsor Regional Hospital for further treatment.

The 41-year-old female driver from Thamesville was not hurt.

The investigation continues.
