NDP candidate announced for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex

Kathryn Shailer has once again won the nomination to be the Ontario NDP candidate in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex.

Shailer finished third in the May byelection, which was won by Steve Pinsonneault.

"I am truly honoured to be your Ontario NDP candidate,” said Kathryn. “People in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex deserve a government that is on their side and invests in affordable housing, healthcare and education. I look forward to serving the community with everything I have and raising your concerns at Queen’s Park under the leadership of Marit Stiles."

The Alvinston-based candidate has more than 20 years of experience as a senior administrator at postsecondary institutions across Canada and another 20 of teaching.

"Kathryn is an experienced educator and is dedicated to seeing her community thrive," said Ontario NDP leader Marit Stiles. "She is a champion for social justice and passionate about setting up future generations to succeed. I am excited to have Kathryn on the Ontario NDP team and working together to create a better and brighter future for Ontarians!"

Shailer will once again run against Pinsonneault and Liberal Cathy Burghardt-Jesson, who was confirmed as the candidate back in October.

The provincial election will be held on February 27.
