Stolen delivery van recovered, Leamington man arrested

CK police had to use GPS and some fast footwork to arrest a man who reportedly took off with a delivery van.

According to police, just before 1 p.m. on Thursday, a delivery driver got out of his van to deliver a package on Dufferin Avenue in Tilbury and another man hopped in.

"A 37-year-old male from Leamington jumped into the driver's seat and drove off," police said in a media release.

Officers tracked the van to the Tecumseh Line area using the vehicle's GPS and attempted to pull the driver over. Police said that once the van was stopped, the man tried to run from the scene.

The suspect was arrested after a brief foot chase.

No injuries or damage were reported.
