CK property owners asked to treat sidewalks for ice and snow

People living across Chatham-Kent are being reminded to take care of the sidewalks in front of their homes and businesses.

The municipality is anticipating a lot of ice developing soon, so they’re asking property owners to treat the sidewalks.

Under the municipal maintenance bylaw, everyone besides those who live or work in the downtown business area must clear the pathways within the next 24 hours. They also must de-ice the sidewalks within 48 hours.

People are asked to clear any snow before it settles, chip ice away, and place sand or salt.

More information about the bylaw can be found on the municipality’s website.
