Robbery in Wheatley

Police were called to a report of an early morning robbery in Wheatley.

Investigators said it happened between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. near Erie Street South, south of Talbot Road East.

Police said approximately 15 people witnessed the incident. The suspect was seen wearing a bright orange construction coat.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no risk to public safety.

Man arrested for impaired driving

A 21-year-old was arrested early Saturday morning for impaired driving.

Police said at 2:30 a.m. he was observed driving with two flat tires and extensive body damage. The driver was stopped and found to be intoxicated by alcohol.

The man was transported to police headquarters where he was found to be twice over the legal limit. He was also found to have a suspended licence. His vehicle was impounded for 45 days and he was released with a future court date.

Woman arrested for impaired driving

A 20-year-old woman was arrested for impaired driving early Saturday morning.

At 2:45 a.m. the woman was stopped in Blenheim. She was then taken to police headquarters.

She was found to be twice over the legal limit.

Their vehicle was impounded and released with a future court date.
