It’s time for another "Name a Snow Plow" contest in Chatham-Kent.
The municipality said the contest is now open and it is looking for help to name six more snowplows.
Officials noted the objective is to encourage CK citizens to submit creative and imaginative names for the snowplows.
Municipal officials said they are eager to receive the "wealth of innovative suggestions" that this year's contest will bring.
"Over the past three years, this contest has garnered remarkable success, with some of the selected names receiving recognition on a national platform during 'Hockey Night in Canada.' This recognition not only highlights the creativity and community spirit that thrives within our region, but also underscores the significance of this annual event," a statement from the municipality said. "The snowplow naming contest not only adds an element of fun and engagement to our winter activities, but also provides an opportunity for residents to leave their mark on our community's snow-clearing fleet."
Submitted names must be family friendly, not include any foul language, and must not be discriminatory, the municipality said.
Officials said a group will review the names and choose 25 to move on to the voting stage. Citizens can then review the finalist names and vote for their favourite. The six names with the highest number of votes will be chosen for the six plows.
The names will be announced to the media once they're selected and a ribbon cutting will also take place.
