Warrant arrest

A Chatham woman was arrested after she attended the Probation and Parole office on Grand Avenue West.

The 32-year-old was to abide by specific conditions from previous charges. The woman violated the release and a warrant was issued for breaching her conditional sentence order.

The woman was taken police headquarters and held for bail.

Motor vehicle accident/ impaired driving

Police were called to a single-vehicle collision early Saturday morning in the area of Indian Creek West Road in Chatham.

Officers said a resident in the area heard a loud bang at 12:25 a.m.

Police arrived in the area of of Lacroix Street and Indian Creek West Road and found a pickup truck in a tree area attempting to reverse and leave. Police said the man went through the intersection without stopping.

The driver was immediately arrested at the scene for impaired.

A 43-year-old Charing Cross man was taken to police headquarters where he was found to be three times over the legal limit.

He was charged with impaired operation and 80 plus. He was released when sober with a future court date.

Vehicle stop leads to impaired driving charges

Police stopped a 65-year-old man on Welling Street West in Chatham for a traffic offence. During the stop it was found that the man was under the influence of alcohol.

The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was found to be over the legal limit. He was charged with impaired operation 80 plus and was released with a future court date.
