Wallaceburg man arrested following business break-in

A 57-year-old man has been charged in connection to a break-in and theft at a Wallaceburg business.

Police said they were called to a business on Gillard Street Thursday morning following the reported theft of wire.

Officers arrested and charged the suspect. He was later released from custody with a future court date.

Disturbance call leads to impaired driving charges

A Chatham woman is facing impaired driving charges following a police response to a disturbance.

CK police said officers spotted the woman behind the wheel while they were dealing with the disturbance call and believed her to be under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Results of breath tests showed that the woman had more than the legal amount of alcohol in her system, police said.

The 45-year-old was arrested and later released by police with a future court date.

Road Safety

CK police are reminding drivers that safety should be their first priority when on the road.

On Thursday, officers were called to five separate collisions across the municipality.

According to police, speed is almost always a significant factor in collisions that cause serious or fatal injuries.
