Ethan Jordan sets Laurier receiving record

It was a busy weekend for Chatham's Ethan Jordan and the Laurier Golden Hawks football team.

The fourth-year wide receiver became the first player in Laurier's 63-year football history to reach 1,000 receiving yards in a single season.

Jordan caught 10 passes for 225 yards and two touchdowns in the Golden Hawks 44-24 win over Carleton on Saturday, October 19. That included a 74-yard touchdown and a 55-yard score.

The psychology major is also just the 18th receiver in U Sports history to record at least 1,000 yards in a season.

For his effort, Jordan was named the OUA Offensive Player of the Week and the male Laurier Athlete of the Week.

The Golden Hawks finished the regular season with a perfect 8-0 record, and earned a bye to the OUA semi-finals on November 2.

Jordan also finished the regular season as the leading receiver in the OUA and U Sports for receptions (59), yards per game (125), and touchdowns (10).
