Chatham woman gets a trespassing ticket

A 43-year-old Chatham woman got off with just a ticket for trespassing police were called to a residence on Harvey Street in Chatham to investigate a call about an unwanted person.

CK police said they had learned just before 9 p.m. Sunday that the new owner of a building had learned someone was currently inside one of the lower units of the building even though no one was supposed to be in there.

Police said they found the woman inside and arrested her for the criminal code offence of being unlawfully in a dwelling.

CK police said their investigation showed that no criminal offences had been committed, though, so they released her with a provincial offences notice for trespassing instead.

Speeders caught by speed trap in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent police handed out eight traffic tickets for speeding on Sunday while they were conducting some targeted traffic enforcement near Wallaceburg.

Police said they had set up in the area of Kimball Road and McCreary Line for that.

In addition to the eight tickets, police also warned one driver.

A 28-year-old North Buxton man has once again been arrested for his alleged role in an assault back in the summer.
