A team of Entegrus employees who were headed to Florida to help restore power for victims of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton have been called off.
Fourteen crew members were deployed on Wednesday to assist Florida Power & Light (FPL) and thousands of their customers who have been in the dark for almost two weeks.
The team mobilized within 24 hours of getting the call to help.
"We are incredibly proud of how our team came together to prepare and deploy in such a short time," said the utility's President and CEO Jim Hogan. "While our crew won’t be assisting on-site in Florida, this experience reaffirms our commitment to providing aid in times of crisis. Our thoughts remain with those impacted by these devastating storms."
Entegrus has a history of helping out in the wake of natural disasters. The company sent teams during Hurricane Irma in 2017, Hurricane Sandy in 2012, and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
The company has extended its thanks to everyone who played a role in getting the crew on the road. The convoy will be home in time for Thanksgiving.
