East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice returns

The second annual East Kent Hot Rods for Hospice will roar into Ridgetown on Saturday.

Ridge Runners East Kent is holding the event at the University of Guelph Ridgetown Campus from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Car enthusiasts can look forward to a huge car and truck show. Organizers said that last year more than 300 vehicles showed up to be displayed.

The event will be fun for the whole family as there will be plenty of activities for kids and a soapbox derby. Attendees can also expect food trucks, vendors, live music, raffles, and a 50/50 draw.

There is no spectator parking on site, but guests can park at Ridgetown District High School, the Ridgetown Arena, Naahi Ridge Public School or any of the side streets.

There will also be a free shuttle bus running every 30 minutes between the venue, the arena, and downtown behind Dollarama.

Everyone is encouraged to make a donation to the Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation when they enter the event.

The hospice provides comfort, support, and round-the-clock care for residents facing the end of their lives. Last year, the inaugural Hot Rods for Hospice fundraiser raised over $32,000 for the facility.
