Chatham Man Arrested for Assault

Chatham-Kent police have arrested and charged a Chatham man, alleging he assaulted his daughter and then charged at officers when they arrived to investigate the matter.

Police said they got a call about an assault at Thornhill Crescent in Chatham Tuesday night and found the man in the garage, yelling and destroying property.

The man threatened the officers and charged at them and police say they had to use a taser on him to take him into custody.

Police allege the man was drunk and had an argument with his 17-year-old daughter and the argument escalated into an assault when she attempted to remove herself from the situation.

The 49-year-old man was taken to police headquarters and was held until he sobered up. He has been charged with assault and assaulting a peace officer.

Man Arrested for Uttering Threats

A man apparently didn't get the message after being bound by a probation order requiring him to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. He has been charged with uttering threats and failing to comply with a probation order.

Chatham-Kent police began investigating threats in Chatham last week and allege the man was making threatening remarks to the victim on Facebook.

According to police, the suspect was found on Lacroix Street in Chatham on Tuesday afternoon and was arrested.

Man Arrested for Bail Violation

The law has caught up with a 41-year-old Chatham man wanted on an outstanding warrant connected to several police investigations in Chatham-Kent.

According to police, the suspect was arrested on Murray Street in Wallaceburg on Tuesday.

He faces charges of failing to attend court, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, assault, assault causing bodily harm, two counts of failing to comply with an undertaking, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, three counts of mischief, six counts of possession of stolen property, and six counts of theft.

Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court

Several charges have been laid against a woman from Chatham-Kent.

Police said officers responded to suspicious activity and found the woman on Wellington Street East in Chatham on Tuesday.

She was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to several local investigations, said investigators.

The 34-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with mischief, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of theft, two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, and three counts of failing to attend court.
