Cyclist allegedly carrying meth and opioids threatened a pedestrian
A 53-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing charges after an early morning confrontation with a pedestrian on Partridge Crescent in Chatham.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called in for that shortly after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, adding that the man was riding a bicycle when he got into an altercation with a pedestrian.
During that incident, the man on the bike allegedly yelled at the pedestrian while holding a knife.
When police caught up with the cyclist, they reported finding some suspected methamphetamine and opioids in his possession.
He was arrested and charged with two counts of drug possession and one count of assault with a weapon before he was released with conditions and a future court date.

Police pick up wanted Blenheim man
A 55-year-old Blenheim man who was wanted for skipping a scheduled court appearance in November 2023 has been arrested.
CK police said they found him on St. Clair Street at around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and took him into custody temporarily.
He was later released with a new court date in October.

CK man wanted for probation violations
Chatham-Kent police were able to cross off another name from their wanted list on Tuesday when they arrested a 47-year-old Chatham-Kent man.
Police said they found him on King Street East in Chatham at around 3:45 p.m. Tuesday and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for probation violations.
He was taken to police headquarters first, then later released with conditions and a future court date.
