Woman Arrested for Assault

A disturbance in Morpeth has led to charges for a 64-year-old woman.

Chatham-Kent police were called to a O'Neill Line shortly after noon on Tuesday, and learned a verbal altercation between the woman and a man escalated when the woman pushed the man.

The woman was arrested and transported to police headquarters where she was charged with assault.

She was later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man Arrested for Break and Enter

A Ridgetown man is facing a number of charges following a break and enter in Dresden.

Chatham-Kent police were called to an address on Esterville Road shortly after 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The suspect was believed to be still on the property, so when officers arrived, they searched and located him hiding and arrested him.

He was known to the homeowner, but provided police with a false name.

A search also found the suspect in possession of the homeowner's house and car keys.

The 37-year-old was charged with obstructing a peace officer and break and enter. He was released with conditions and a future court date.

Woman Arrested for Failing to Attend Court

A suspicious activity investigation has led to charges for a Chatham woman.

Officers were called to King Street East in Chatham shortly after 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

They located the woman and confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court in relation to a December 2022 drug trafficking investigation.

The 42-year-old is currently facing three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. She was arrested and released with a new court date.
