The new school year is days away and there are a number of closures across Chatham-Kent as summer vacation winds down.
Municipal offices and most services, including housing, fleet, and employment and social services, will be closed on Monday, September 2 in recognition of Labour Day.
Both the Chatham and Dresden Service Ontario locations will also be shut.
Emergency services are accessible by dialling "911."
CK Public Health will be closed on the holiday Monday. Acceptance of well water samples will be paused all weekend, from Friday through Monday, due to the Public Health lab schedule.
Services at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) will be altered on Labour Day. Emergency Departments and Hemodialysis Care will be open and departments for scheduled diagnostic tests will also be staffed. All other departments will not be available.
Entegrus and the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) will be closed on Monday.
Garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day. All Transfer Stations and Leaf and Yard Depots will be closed.
Libraries, pools, arenas, museums, theatres, and galleries will also be shut for the holiday.
Those who use the bus to get around will have to find alternate transportation as all Ride CK Transit services will not operate on Monday.
