The provincial government has reached a tentative deal with public school principals and vice principals.
According to a release from the provincial government on August 12, the memorandum of settlement is between the Ontario government, the associations representing principals and vice-principals, and the four associations representing school boards. Those include english and french speaking public and catholic boards.
The release also claims that this tentative deal "ensures that students benefit from the government's back-to-basics agenda, which is focused on what matters most: boosting reading, writing and math skills in Ontario schools."
There are approximately 8,000 full-time equivalent principals and vice-principals across Ontario. Principals and vice-principals in Ontario are not unionized.
