Not even mother nature can put a damper on the CK Can Jam.
"Today was kind of a wash, pun intended because of the rain. We are working away and now the Chatham-Kent weather is really stepping up," said event organizer Sarah Tucker-Steele. "It's been incredible. People are already using their touring maps, and taking a peek...the neighborhood has been wonderful and the artists are taking the time to talk."
One of those artists is Fel3000ft who made the the trip to Chatham from Detroit for the event. His mural is located on 31 Forsyth Street.
"It so happened I was doing this piece pigeoned between two dental practices so let's make it a tooth fairy," said Fel3000ft. "I'm going to put a little tooth fairy necklace around her neck and a couple little teeth floating with wings maybe, just keep it cute. I think it will reflect the business but also give people a fun place to take a photo."
Despite the setback Fel3000ft knows he will complete the mural by the end of the week and can't wait to share the finished piece.
"I want to paint pieces that people are drawn to. I love doing stuff that brings kids in and makes them excited about art," said Fel3000ft. "To think that you get to do a mural in a festival with a group of collectives that are extremely talented is always a great thing to do... but when you are doing it with this collective people who happen to be your good friends, sign me up."
