Chatham Man Arrested for Assault

Charges of assault and uttering threats have been laid against a Chatham man after an argument with his grandmother allegedly got out of hand.

Chatham-Kent police reported the family dispute in Chatham on Sunday escalated when the suspect allegedly made comments about harming his grandmother and proceeded to assault her.

The 25-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats.

Wallaceburg Man Arrested on an Outstanding Warrant

A 41-year-old man from Wallaceburg got reacquainted with Chatham-Kent police after being arrested on an outstanding bench warrant early Monday morning.

Police said they located the man on Base Line in Wallaceburg just before 2 a.m. on Monday and confirmed he was wanted for failing to attend court in connection to an alleged motor vehicle theft in Chatham three months ago and charges of possession of property obtained by crime.

Police said he'll be back in court next month.

Woman Arrested for Failing to Comply with Release Order

Chatham-Kent police have arrested a 40-year-old woman from Chatham for allegedly violating her court conditions.

Police said the woman was released by the court in April with specific conditions, including living at a specified address in Ridgetown while also wearing a GPS monitoring device. However, police said they were advised about an alert from her GPS monitoring device indicating she had left the home.

Officers located the woman at a different address in Ridgetown and took her back to the court ordered address that has supervision, said police.

She was arrested early Monday morning and will return to court at the end of the month.
