Table saw, food targeted during break-in

Chatham-Kent police are investigating a break-in where someone took off with a DeWalt table saw and some food items.

Officers said those items were stolen after a break-in sometime overnight on Wednesday at a detached garage in the area of Harvey Street.

Man charged with domestic violence arrested for breaching bail conditions

A 38-year-old Wallaceburg man is spending some time at the Southwest Regional Detention Center after he allegedly breached his bail conditions by showing up at a home he had been banned from attending.

Chatham-Kent police said they were notified of the alleged bail violation in Wallaceburg on June 29, adding that he had been banned from attending the specific address because of some domestic violence-related charges.

Police caught up with him on Wednesday and arrested him.

He was initially taken to police headquarters pending a bail hearing, then later transferred to the Southwest Regional Detention Center pending his next court appearance next week.
