Break and Enter

Police are asking for the public's assistance in a break and enter that happened on Park Street in Chatham.

Sometime overnight an unknown suspect stole $3,500 worth of tools from a detached garage.

Two men arrested on outstanding warrants

Chatham-Kent police arrested two men Friday separately for outstanding warrants.

A 30-year-old Tilbury man turned himself into police due to an outstanding warrant involving domestic related charges. He was released with a future court date with conditions.

Police arrested a 38-year-old Chatham man for charges of extortion, sexual assault, uttering threats, criminal harassment and sharing intimate images. He was later released with a future court date.

Man arrested for domestic assault

Police have arrested a Chatham man for domestic assault.

According to police, the man was engaged in an altercation with his partner resulting in the suspect allegedly punching and choking her.

The man has been arrested for assault, assault causing bodily harm, mischief and uttering threats. He is currently being held for a bail hearing.

Man arrested for impaired driving

Police responded to a call about a possible impaired driver early this morning. According to police they located the 20-year-old driver and vehicle on Croydon Street after the driver failed to stop when initially directed to.

At headquarters the man refused to provide a breathalyzer sample and was charged with refusal. He has been released with a future court date.

Police recover a stolen vehicle

A vehicle was reported stolen Friday morning from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance located at 80 Grand Ave West in Chatham.

According to police they identified the male suspect using surveillance video and arrested him that same afternoon.

Police said he's been charged with theft of a motor vehicle, mischief under $5,000 and possession over $5,000.
