Father's Day is just around the corner, and Dads in need of a new tie are in luck.
Tie One On is a brand new fundraiser to raise money for the pet food bank at Pet and Wildlife Rescue (PAWR) in Chatham.
"This Thursday, June 13 at Sons of Kent from 4 til 8 o'clock. The premise is you come in and get a tie, 10 ties. There's close to 500 to choose from, and everything is by donation," said organizer Tracy Lewis. "No price tags and no bidding. It's just by donation to make it easy. That way it's entirely up to you what you'd like to give."
The ties have all been donated and will be laid out in the brewery by colour. Lewis said there are even some specialty ties.
"I do have my favorites," said Lewis. "The first one is a Harley-Davidson tie with the motorcycle going all the way down the front of it. And I do have two special golf ties that I particularly like."
The event is free to attend, and was Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff's idea.
"I have to give the credit to the mayor. He mentioned it last year at an event that I was at, and I've just gone and taken it from there," said Lewis.
