Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) is looking for ways to enhance some of its outdoor spaces.
On Monday, CKHA put out the call to local artists to submit applications to create art pieces for both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites.
"The goal of this initiative is to enhance the outdoors spaces at both locations, promoting healthcare, beauty, and fostering a sense of tranquility for patients, visitors, and staff," a media release from the organization said.
Lori Marshall, president and CEO of CKHA, is calling the search an opportunity for both the artists and the hospitals.
"We believe that art has the power to heal and uplift," Marshall said. "This is an opportunity to showcase artistic talent while enhancing the healing environment of our outdoor spaces, furthering our goal of patient family-centred care."
Artists from all backgrounds are invited to submit their ideas, with the requirement that the artwork is weather-proof, durable, and safe for public display year-round.
A selection committee of CKHA leadership, Patient Advisors, and staff will review all submissions.
