Police looking for break-in suspect

Chatham-Kent police are asking for help to identify a suspect wanted in multiple break-and-enter investigations in Chatham.

Police have released a couple of photos of the person and you can find those below.

Anyone with information that could help police with the investigation is asked to contact Constable Cole Freeman at colef@chatham-kent.ca.

You can also provide information anonymously by submitting a tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Wanted man picked up by railway police

Chatham-Kent police got a little help from their counterparts at the Canadian Pacific Railway over the weekend.

CK police said the CP Railway police notified them shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday that they had a man in custody on Colborne Street in Chatham who was wanted on an outstanding DNA warrant.

The accused was handed over to CK police and taken back to CKPS headquarters where he was processed and later released.

Police find wanted woman during disturbance call follow-up

The long arm of the law has snagged a 33-year-old Chatham-Kent woman who was wanted for failing to attend court in relation to some theft investigations.

CK police said they found her while they were investigating a disturbance call on Thames Street in Chatham at around 2 p.m. Sunday.

Officers said she is currently charged with three counts of drug possession, two counts each of theft and possession of stolen property, and one count of failing to attend court.

She was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Wanted man finds himself on the wrong side of the law again

A 31-year-old Windsor man who was already wanted by Chatham-Kent police is in more trouble after he allegedly violated his probation conditions.

CK police said they got a tip Sunday afternoon that the man had attended an address he was banned from attending as outlined in a probation order.

Police said an officer who showed up in the area after receiving that information found the man a short distance away and confirmed he was wanted on a surety relief warrant.

The man was arrested and taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

He is charged with three counts of failing to comply with a release order, two counts of uttering threats, and one count each of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
