Police recover stolen motorcycle, arrest suspect

A 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing charges after he allegedly stole a motorcycle from an address on River Line in Harwich Township.

Chatham-Kent police said the motorcycle was reported stolen on Wednesday and that officers recovered it at an address on McNaughton Avenue in Chatham shortly before 9:30 a.m. Thursday.

A suspect was arrested in the case and he was taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

The accused is currently charged with theft over $5,000, theft of a motor vehicle, and possession of stolen property.'

Traffic complaint leads police to impaired driver

A 60-year-old Dover Township woman is facing a pair of impaired driving charges after police stopped her vehicle in Dover Township shortly before noon on Thursday.

CK police said they found the vehicle after receiving a traffic complaint on Winter Line Road at about 11:45 a.m. Thursday and initiated a traffic stop.

Police believed the driver was under the influence of alcohol, so she was arrested.

The woman was taken to police headquarters for tests and was later charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

She was later released with a future court date.

Chatham man accused of harassing an ex-partner

A 50-year-old Chatham man is facing a criminal harassment charge after he refused to leave his ex alone.

CK police said they started their investigation at around 4 p.m. Thursday and learned that the man had repeatedly followed his ex-partner around, showing up at their workplace and home.

Police were able to track down the accused and arrested him.

He was charged and later released with conditions and a future court date.

Man arrested in domestic violence investigation

A 32-year-old Chatham man is facing a pair of charges after he allegedly threatened to harm a woman and damaged her cell phone during an argument.

Police said they were called to an address in Chatham for that at around 10:15 p.m. Thursday and arrested the man.

He was taken into custody and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing.

Man accused of break-in, theft at Tilbury Memorial Park

Chatham-Kent police have caught up with a 37-year-old man who was wanted in connection with a break-in at Tilbury Memorial Park.

Officers said the incident took place on Monday, adding that the man was arrested on Michael Avenue in Tilbury shortly after 11:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Chatham-Kent man was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date in June.

He is currently charged with break and enter, theft, and possession of stolen property.

Police nab woman wanted for bail violation

The law has come calling for a 33-year-old Walpole Island woman who was wanted in connection with a bail violation investigation from 2023.

Police said they found her on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg at around 1 a.m. Friday.

Officers confirmed that she was wanted, arrested her, and took her to police headquarters.

She was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing and is charged with five counts of failing to comply with a release order, three counts of failing to comply with a release order, and one count of failing to attend court.
